Gandalf has been one of those "Once in a Lifetime" type of dogs. In 2007 when the Canadian Kennel Club accepted the Longhair coat variety my husband Ward turned to me and said "We should get one of those." Not waiting for him to change his mind I started looking for a breeder. After much great help from the Australians, we settled on Bill and Ingrid Albion of Graustrum Weimaraners in Hobart Tasmania. We bought him as a young pup, and Ingrid kept him till his Championship at 15 mths old. Along the way he won many great awards!
He has been everything we had hoped for. Brains,beauty, and hunt drive. A true gentle giant and great ambassador for the Longhair breed. He passes these traits on to his offspring. He is proving himself to be an outstanding producer.
In Australia he as produced 2 litters of fine offspring, both long and short hair, many of them an Australian Champions already. Last count was 10 kids in the top 25.....Wow!!!
Gandalf spent a year with our dear friend Dawna Miller from PM Weimaraners, in Carter Montana. While there he learned many skills to make him a great hunter, who is soft mouthed and great on the retrieve. Thanks Dawna for all your work on this great boy!!!
Gandalf has sired many great litters since being here producing many champions and hunting dogs. He produces very nice substance, type and temperament. He has great movement with ease of covering ground. He is OVC cleared for hip dysplasia, and eyes normal. Gandalf is 1 point shy of his CKC Championship
